BRUNCH REVIEW: ROSEBUD

"The restaurant has become a haven for the surrounding neighborhood, and Eyester’s clever personality, buoyant and gregarious, is a bolster to the entire community.” Meredith Ford

NEIGHBORHOOD
Morningside Lenox Park - Established 1923, Morningside Lenox Park was touted a “new type of suburb” of Atlanta. Crepe myrtles and dogwoods shaded wide paved streets, as streetcars transported residents to the doorstep of their picturesque homes. Today, this in-town community still remains friendly and boasting with family oriented people. The streetcars have long faded, but the trees remain to shade the boutiques, restaurants, and monumental markers that now distinguish Morningside Lenox Park as a place of suburban pride.

AMBIENCE
Local Folks, Kind Flavors… The brick and mortar anchored in Morningside bustles every weekend, as brunchers pile in for local flavors served by kind folks, at a neighborhood gem called Rosebud. The interior is intimate with an energetic vibe of chatter and clinking glasses, synchronizing a celebration of brunch bliss. Canvas photography backdrops the main dining area, and a chalkboard divider highlights cocktails and local goodness. My favorite accessory, the rustic fork sign that flags the entrance, adds its own touch of welcoming warmth to the space.

BRUNCH
Envisioned by Chef Ron Eyester, Rosebud’s philosophy is to prepare delicious southern comfort using the freshest of local and regional ingredients. Dishes are fused with flavors tantalizing your buds, with creations like Blue Cheese stuffed Dates with Smoked Bacon or Tempura Eggplant Chips with green curry ketchup. My palate pleaser is the Big Nasty, a monster fried chicken sandwich with scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheddar; or upgrade to the Nasty Royale with Berkshire ham, brie, and truffle honey mustard. For the privileged few, the Lobster Hushpuppies are simply fabulous, yet rarely available. Other delights are Fried Chicken and Waffles, Peeky Toe Crab Omelet, and Bacon Cheeseburger Frittata. The Rosebud Sundae, three scoops of eclectic yummy topped with rice krispy treats, serves as the perfect brunch finale!
